GUIDELINES FOR RESUMING IN-PERSON WORSHIP AT FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF JONESBORO
Preparation for Arrival
Please arrive for worship equipped with a face mask since they are required by the Session for in-person worship
Please have hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes for personal use
Entrance & Exit
Please Enter and Exit through the sanctuary (not the FLB), using the front main doors of the Sanctuary. Practice 6ft social distance when entering and exiting
All worship attendees will be required to have their temperature checked upon entrance
Gathering in Sanctuary
Please always wear a face mask when in the sanctuary
Please sit with members of your immediate family, signs will be placed on pews for your seating
Practice social distancing with other members
Bathrooms in the Narthex: please follow social distancing protocols in the bathroom, do not congregate near sinks
Child Care: the nursery will be closed, and childcare will not be offered during worship
Meeting with the Pastor: Olive will not be meeting with members before or after worship. Please send a text, email, or call her for a phone or video appointment.
Fellowship Time: Fellowship Time has been suspended for the next few weeks
Worship Bulletins: will be placed in the pews on your seats
Friendship Pads: will be removed from the pews. A member of the worship committee will track attendance each Sunday (this becomes important for contact tracing)
Ushers: There will be no ushers, instead there will be a greeter
Congregational Singing: singing will be kept to a bare minimum, there will be no sung responses, The Gloria Patri, Doxology and the Alleluia will not be sung
Choral Singing: there will be no choral singing
Offering and Dedication: the offering plate will not be passed during worship. Offering plates will be placed at the entrance of the sanctuary for your convenience. Online giving is highly recommended through the church website. See Brian Turner for more information. An offering prayer will be included in the Pastoral Prayer each Sunday. On the first Sunday of the month, a basket will be placed on the table for Marion Mission coins
Pulpit Microphone: anyone using the microphone MUST wear a face mask
Children’s Message: there will be no Children’s Message during worship
Passing the Peace: the peace will be passed using American Sign Language and will be contact free
Holy Communion: Pre-packaged communion elements will be used
Covid-19 positive case: If one of our worship attendees tests positive for Covid-19, in-person worship will be paused for a 14-day quarantine.
The CDC considers a person to have a fever when he or she has measured a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C). Please check your own temperature at home every Sunday morning prior to departing for church (99.5-100.4)
If you have tested positively for COVID-19, please self-isolate for 14 days according to CDC guidelines- and please DO NOT COME TO CHURCH.
