Presbyterian Women (PW)

Presbyterian Women is an organization within the life of the church who's purpose is to nurture faith through prayer, bible study, and mission. The guiding resource to fulfill our goals is the Horizon Bible Study, a publication of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. PW is involved in many ways to support the community, a few of these are:

I. Valentine for Veterans: every year members of the congregation buy Valentine's Day cards and add a note of care and love. The cards are then mailed to the VA hospital in Atlanta for distribution to in-patient veterans by the PW.

II. Veterans Day Recognition: every year the PW recognizes the Veterans in our congregation through a special prayer tribute and a small gift. In addition, a donation is sent in their honor to "The Patriot Riders."

III. Suder Elementary School: every year the PW provides school supplies for the new academic year to students and teachers.

IV. Present Hope Ministries: PW supports/sponsors a child through the Present Hope Ministries in Haiti. A monthly monetary donation is sent, as well as gifts for the child's birthday and Christmas. In 2019, a special gift was sent to help fund the completion of the new school's kitchen.

V. Caretaker Baskets: PW started a new local community service project called Caretaker Baskets in 2019. Useful items are gathered into a handmade bag and given to caretakers and or In-bound individuals. Some of the items gathered include hand sanitizer, tissue, lotion, lip balm, prayer shawls, and blank note cards.
